Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program
The Waiting List will be open 5/1/2025. Applications will NOT be available until 5/1/2025.
The Section 8 Housing Assistance Payment Program provides rental assistance in the form of a voucher to low and very-low income families, singles, senior citizens, disabled and handicapped individuals.
Family Self Sufficiency (FSS)
Family self-sufficiency (FSS) is a HUD program that encourages communities to develop local strategies to help voucher families obtain employment that will lead to economic independence and self-sufficiency.
Announcements
The regular monthly meetings of the Altoona Housing Authority for 2025 will be held on the second Wednesday of each month commencing at 8:30 a.m. prevailing time (Unless specified with an *). All meetings will be held in the boardroom at the Altoona Housing Authority Administrative Office Building located at 2700 Pleasant Valley Boulevard, Altoona, Pennsylvania, until further public notice on the dates that follow:
